The DataMet Plug Gauge with carbide contacts is a computerized gauge for measuring holes, bearing seats and bores on line bearing machines. The set contains 10 measuring heads with carbide contacts and the multifunctional MICS computerized system.

Resolution is 0.1 μm (0.0001 mm), selectable up to 0.1 mm, also in inches. The gauge provides Wireless and USB data output for Industry 4.0 environments.

Every gauge passes metrological control in an ISO 17025:2019 accredited laboratory.

Where Is It Used and What Tasks Does It Solve?

• Bearing seat or bore on a bearing machine line → each bore must be checked against the tolerance during production → LIMITS shows Go/NoGo with color indication at the gauge.
• Holes and bores of different sizes → one measuring head fits only part of the size range → the set of 10 measuring heads is supplied together with the gauge.
• Frequent contact with bore walls → measuring contacts wear and the readings drift → carbide contacts keep their shape in long use.
• Bore with a form deviation → a single reading hides the largest and smallest value → PEAK captures Max/Min during the measurement.
• Recorded inspection of a bore series → values written by hand → the 2000-value memory with folders and statistics, and Wireless or USB output, move the results to a PC.

What Problem Does It Solve?

A conventional bore gauge gives a local scale reading. The operator compares it with the tolerance, notes it down and has to correct the reading for temperature and gauge error separately.

The computerized plug gauge evaluates the value in the instrument: color limits show the tolerance result, FORMULA, TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION and LINEAR compensation adjust the reading, and memory with data output removes manual recording.

How Does It Work?

The measuring head is inserted into the hole or bearing seat and the contacts touch the bore wall. The MICS module converts the movement of the contacts into a value with the selected resolution and applies compensation and formula.

The result is shown on the gauge and stored in the internal memory or sent through the Wireless and USB data output.
