MODBUS Receiver

Description

The MICROTECH MODBUS Receiver provides a direct interface between MODBUS RTU measuring devices and the MetroX app. It receives measurement data through an industrial RS-485 connection and transfers it to a Windows computer via USB-C.

The receiver is suitable for centralized data collection from indicators, sensors, load cells and other compatible MODBUS devices. With a communication rate of up to 20 Hz, it can be used for continuous measurement monitoring, multi-point inspection and integration of measuring equipment into digital production systems.

Three versions are available for different numbers of devices and connection distances.

Available Versions

MODBUS CORE Receiver – 141077081

The CORE version is designed for compact measuring systems and individual inspection stations.

Choose CORE for a small workstation that requires simultaneous data collection from two measuring instruments.

MODBUS MULTI Receiver – 141077082

The MULTI version expands the system to a maximum of eight connected devices.

• Maximum connection distance: 15 m
• USB-powered
• USB-C connection to PC
• Compatible with the MetroX app

Choose MULTI for multi-instrument inspection stations, laboratory systems and production areas where several measuring devices must be monitored from one computer.

MODBUS EXPERT Receiver – 141077083

The EXPERT version is intended for larger industrial measurement networks and long-distance communication.

Choose EXPERT for distributed measuring systems, production monitoring and applications where instruments are located at considerable distances from the computer.

Industrial RS-485 Connection

The receiver uses a 4-wire RS-485 input with the following terminals:

• 5-24 V
• GND
• A
• B

RS-485 communication provides stable data transmission in industrial environments and supports considerably longer cable distances than conventional USB connections.

MODBUS RTU Communication

The system uses the MODBUS RTU protocol. The protocol architecture supports networks with up to 247 device addresses and communication distances of up to 1200 m. The actual number of connected devices and operating distance depend on the selected receiver version.
