The WIRELESS SwissMet IP67 Low-FORCE Caliper is a rechargeable digital caliper for dimensional measurement of soft materials under low, defined contact force. Its bidirectional Low-FORCE control module provides 0.8 N for external measurements and 1 N for internal measurements, reducing dependence on operator-applied force. Three measuring ranges up to 300 mm are available, with IP67 protection, PRESET function and multimode wireless data transfer to MDS applications or directly through HID mode.

Description
PRODUCT
The WIRELESS SwissMet IP67 Low-FORCE Caliper combines a stainless-steel caliper mechanism, Swiss electronic measuring system and a bidirectional Low-FORCE control module.
Three measuring ranges are available:
- 0–150 mm / 0–6″ — 0.01 mm resolution, ±30 μm external-jaw accuracy, 40/16 mm jaws
- 0–200 mm / 0–8″ — 0.01 mm resolution, ±30 μm external-jaw accuracy, 50/17 mm jaws
- 0–300 mm / 0–12″ — 0.01 mm resolution, ±40 μm external-jaw accuracy, 60/20 mm jaws
The stated accuracy applies to the external jaws. Internal-jaw and depth measurements are specified according to ISO 13385-1.
The mechanical Low-FORCE system provides 0.8 N during external measurement and 1 N during internal measurement. This defined low-force configuration is intended for measurements where conventional caliper contact force may affect the measured soft material or make results more dependent on operator technique.
The standard caliper uses hand-finished stainless-steel measuring surfaces with Ra < 0.32 μm. It provides IP67 protection according to IEC 60529, PRESET, mm/inch indication and automatic ON/OFF.
The electronic system has a maximum slider speed of 2.5 m/s and a large display with 12 mm digits and a refresh rate above 10 readings per second.
Power is supplied by a built-in rechargeable Li-Pol battery with magnetic charging.
CONNECTIVITY & DATA
The caliper provides built-in multimode wireless data transfer with two operating methods:
- Wireless MDS mode — measurement data transfer to the MICROTECH MDS application on Windows, Android, iOS and macOS
- Wireless HID mode — direct wireless data input to supported operating systems and applications using HID operation
This allows measurement values to be transferred electronically without manual transcription.
WHAT PROBLEM DOES IT SOLVE?
With a conventional digital caliper, contact force is normally determined mainly by the operator. When measuring soft materials, variations in applied force can change the amount of material deformation and consequently influence the indicated dimension.
The 0.8 N external / 1 N internal Low-FORCE system establishes defined measuring forces according to measurement direction, reducing dependence on operator feel and making the contact condition more consistent.
Wireless data transfer additionally addresses the need to record measurement results electronically. Values can be sent to the MDS application or entered directly through HID mode instead of being copied manually.
IP67 protection supports use of the electronic caliper in measurement environments where protection against dust and water ingress is required.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
For an external measurement, the workpiece is positioned between the external measuring jaws and the slider is closed until the Low-FORCE mechanism establishes the specified 0.8 N contact force.
For an internal measurement, the internal jaws contact the measured feature while the bidirectional force-control module provides 1 N in the opposite measurement direction.
Jaw displacement is detected by the electronic measuring system and the dimensional value is shown on the digital display. The operator can use PRESET where required and read the result in millimetres or inches.
When data collection is required, the displayed measurement can be transferred wirelessly through the MDS or HID communication mode.
WHERE IS IT USED?
The caliper is intended for dimensional measurement of soft materials where low and defined contact force is required to reduce the influence of material deformation and operator-applied measuring pressure.
It is suitable for external and internal dimensional inspection within the specified measuring ranges, with depth measurement also available according to the instrument specification.
