WHAT IS IT?

The CABLE DataMet Caliper is a computerized caliper developed for cable measurement. It combines specialized flat and pointed Ø0.3 mm jaws with a Swiss-made MICS reading system and electronically controlled measuring force. Unlike a conventional digital caliper, the instrument allows the operator to select and monitor measuring force from 1 to 20 N during measurement.

WHAT DOES IT MEASURE?

The caliper measures cable dimensions within a 0–150 mm / 0–6 in range. Its flat and pointed measuring jaws provide dedicated contact geometry for cable measurements, while the digital system provides 0.0005 mm resolution and specified accuracy of ±4 μm. The pointed contact has a diameter of 0.3 mm.

WHAT PROBLEM DOES IT SOLVE?

Cable measurement can require both suitable contact geometry and controlled measuring force. The CABLE DataMet Caliper combines a flat measuring surface with a fine pointed contact and allows the force applied during measurement to be selected between 1 and 20 N.

The E-Force system provides force indication, color status indication and an AUTO-Force mode, helping the operator reproduce defined contact conditions during repeated measurements rather than relying only on manually applied jaw pressure.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The cable is positioned between the flat and pointed measuring jaws. The operator selects the required measuring force, and the E-Force control module monitors the applied force with visual indication of whether it is low, correct or too high. The Swiss-made MICS reading system measures jaw displacement and displays the dimensional result digitally.

For inspection tasks, functions including Go/NoGo, Max/Min, Formula, Timer, linear correction, temperature correction and selectable resolution can be used directly from the computerized measuring system.

CONNECTIVITY & DATA

Measurement results can be transferred through Wireless connection to the MDS app, Wireless HID, Wireless HID+MAC or USB HID. The MDS app is listed for Windows, Android, iOS and macOS.

The integrated memory manager stores up to 2,000 measurement values and includes folders, statistics mode and memory data transfer. This supports a digital workflow from measurement → storage or data transfer → processing → quality decision, reducing the need to record measurement results manually.
