The WIRELESS SwissMet IP67 Bi-FORCE Caliper is a digital stainless-steel caliper for dimensional measurements requiring defined measuring force and wireless data transfer. Its mechanical Bi-FORCE control module provides 8 N for external measurements and 4 N for internal measurements, reducing dependence on operator-applied force. Three measuring ranges up to 300 mm are available, with 0.01 mm resolution, IP67 protection, PRESET function and multimode wireless data output. Upper and lower carbide jaws are available as an optional modification.

Description
PRODUCT
The WIRELESS SwissMet IP67 Bi-FORCE Caliper combines a stainless-steel caliper mechanism, Swiss electronic measuring system and a mechanical bidirectional force-control module.
Three measuring ranges are available:
- 0–150 mm / 0–6″ — 0.01 mm resolution, ±10 μm accuracy on external jaws, 40/16 mm jaws
- 0–200 mm / 0–8″ — 0.01 mm resolution, ±10 μm accuracy on external jaws, 50/17 mm jaws
- 0–300 mm / 0–12″ — 0.01 mm resolution, ±20 μm accuracy on external jaws, 60/20 mm jaws
The specified accuracy values apply to the external jaws. Internal-jaw and depth measurements are specified according to ISO 13385-1.
The integrated Bi-FORCE control module provides two defined measuring-force levels according to measurement direction: 8 N for external measurements and 4 N for internal measurements. The system is mechanical and bidirectional, allowing contact force to be controlled during normal caliper operation.
The standard instrument uses hand-finished stainless-steel measuring surfaces with Ra < 0.32 μm. A version with upper and lower carbide jaws is available as an optional modification.
The electronic system provides PRESET, mm/inch indication and automatic ON/OFF. The large display uses 12 mm digits with a refresh rate above 10 readings per second, and the slider supports speeds up to 2.5 m/s.
The caliper has IP67 protection according to IEC 60529 and uses a built-in rechargeable Li-Pol battery with a magnetic charging system.
CONNECTIVITY & DATA
The caliper provides built-in multimode wireless data transfer.
Measurement values can be transmitted wirelessly to the MICROTECH MDS application, with support listed for:
- Windows
- Android
- iOS
- macOS
The instrument also supports Wireless HID mode for direct data transfer to an operating system or application without using the MDS application.
The delivery set includes free versions of the MDS application. MDS Display Unit and MDS software are optional accessories.
WHAT PROBLEM DOES IT SOLVE?
A conventional digital caliper normally depends on the operator to determine how much force is applied when the jaws contact the workpiece. Variation in hand pressure can introduce another variable into repeated measurements.
The mechanical Bi-FORCE system addresses this by providing defined force levels for the two main measurement directions: 8 N externally and 4 N internally. This makes the applied contact condition more controlled instead of relying only on operator feel.
For inspection tasks where measurements must also be recorded digitally, the integrated wireless interface removes the need to manually transcribe readings. MDS and HID transfer modes provide two ways to send measured values to compatible digital systems.
IP67 protection additionally makes this version suitable where a protected electronic caliper is required.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
For an external measurement, the workpiece is positioned between the external measuring jaws and the slider is moved until contact is established. The Bi-FORCE mechanism controls the external measuring force at 8 N.
For an internal measurement, the internal jaws are expanded against the measured surfaces. In this direction, the Bi-FORCE system provides a 4 N measuring force.
The electronic measuring system detects the jaw position and displays the dimensional result at 0.01 mm resolution. PRESET can be used where a predefined reference value is required.
When digital recording is needed, the displayed measurement can be transmitted through the caliper’s built-in wireless interface either to the MDS application or through HID mode.
WHERE IS IT USED?
The caliper is intended for general dimensional inspection using external jaws, internal jaws and depth measurement, particularly where controlled measuring force, IP67 protection and direct digital data transfer are required.
It can be used for individual dimensional checks as well as repeated inspection workflows in which measurement values need to be transferred electronically rather than entered manually.
