The CERAMIC MICRON WIRELESS SwissMet IP67 Low-FORCE Caliper is a rechargeable precision digital caliper for dimensional measurement of soft materials under low, defined contact force. It combines a 0.001 mm reading system with 0.8 N external and 1 N internal measuring force and external ceramic-tipped jaws. Compared with the standard Low-FORCE version, this model provides finer resolution, higher specified external-jaw accuracy and ceramic external measuring contacts, while retaining IP67 protection and multimode wireless data transfer.

Description
PRODUCT
The CERAMIC MICRON WIRELESS SwissMet IP67 Low-FORCE Caliper is a stainless-steel digital caliper equipped with MICRON electronics, a bidirectional Low-FORCE control module and external ceramic-tipped measuring jaws.
Three measuring ranges are available:
- 0–150 mm / 0–6″ — 0.001 mm resolution, ±12 μm external-jaw accuracy, 40/16 mm jaws
- 0–200 mm / 0–8″ — 0.001 mm resolution, ±15 μm external-jaw accuracy, 50/17 mm jaws
- 0–300 mm / 0–12″ — 0.001 mm resolution, ±20 μm external-jaw accuracy, 60/20 mm jaws
The stated accuracy applies to the external jaws. Internal-jaw and depth measurements are specified according to ISO 13385-1.
The integrated Low-FORCE module applies 0.8 N during external measurement and 1 N during internal measurement. This defined low-force system is intended for measurements where conventional caliper contact force may influence the measured soft material.
The defining feature of this version is its external ceramic-tipped jaws. The ceramic contacts are specified as non-magnetic, non-conductive and wear-resistant. Unlike the standard 0.01 mm Low-FORCE version, the ceramic MICRON model uses a 0.001 mm resolution electronic system with external-jaw accuracy down to ±12 μm.
The instrument also provides IP67 protection according to IEC 60529, PRESET, mm/inch indication, automatic ON/OFF, a 12 mm-digit display with a refresh rate above 10 readings per second and a maximum slider speed of 2.5 m/s.
Power is supplied by a built-in rechargeable Li-Pol battery with a magnetic charging system.
CONNECTIVITY & DATA
The caliper provides multimode wireless measurement-data transfer.
Wireless MDS mode transfers measurement values to the MICROTECH MDS application. The catalog confirms MDS application support for:
- Windows
- Android
- iOS
- macOS
Wireless HID mode allows direct wireless measurement-data entry into an operating system or application using HID input.
DataMet Button, DataMet Footswitch, MDS Display Unit and MDS software as optional accessories rather than standard components.
WHAT PROBLEM DOES IT SOLVE?
Soft or compressible materials can be difficult to measure consistently with a conventional caliper because the dimensional result may change with the contact force applied by the operator.
The Low-FORCE mechanism addresses this by providing defined 0.8 N external and 1 N internal forces, reducing reliance on operator feel during contact measurement.
The 0.001 mm resolution and improved external-jaw accuracy provide finer dimensional indication than the standard 0.01 mm Low-FORCE configuration.
For applications where the properties of the measuring contacts are also important, this version replaces the standard external measuring surfaces with ceramic-tipped external jaws. Their non-magnetic and non-conductive construction distinguishes this model from the standard stainless-steel Low-FORCE version.
Wireless MDS and HID transfer additionally allow measurement values to be recorded electronically rather than manually transcribed.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
For an external measurement, the operator positions the workpiece between the external ceramic-tipped jaws and closes the caliper until the Low-FORCE mechanism establishes the specified 0.8 N measuring force. The electronic measuring system detects the jaw position and displays the dimensional value at 0.001 mm resolution.
For internal measurement, the internal jaws contact the required feature while the bidirectional Low-FORCE mechanism provides a specified 1 N force.
Depth measurement is also available; its accuracy, together with internal-jaw measurement, is specified according to ISO 13385-1 rather than by the external-jaw accuracy values listed for each model.
The measured value is shown on the large digital display and can be transferred wirelessly through MDS or HID modewhen digital data collection is required.
WHERE IS IT USED?
The CERAMIC MICRON WIRELESS SwissMet IP67 Low-FORCE Caliper is designed for dimensional measurement of soft materials where reduced and controlled contact force is required.
It is particularly differentiated from the standard Low-FORCE model when the measurement task also requires 1 μm indication, improved external-jaw accuracy and external ceramic measuring contacts.
