The CARBIDE WIRELESS SwissMet IP67 Bi-FORCE Caliper is a rechargeable digital caliper for dimensional measurements requiring defined contact force, carbide measuring jaws and wireless data transfer. Its mechanical Bi-FORCE control module provides 8 N for external measurements and 4 N for internal measurements, reducing dependence on operator-applied force. Three measuring ranges up to 300 mm are available, with 0.01 mm resolution, IP67 protection, PRESET function and multimode wireless data output.

Description
PRODUCT
The CARBIDE WIRELESS SwissMet IP67 Bi-FORCE Caliper combines a stainless-steel caliper mechanism, Swiss electronic measuring system, mechanical bidirectional force-control module and upper and lower carbide jaws.
Three measuring ranges are available:
- 0–150 mm / 0–6″ — 0.01 mm resolution, ±10 μm accuracy on external jaws, 40/16 mm jaws
- 0–200 mm / 0–8″ — 0.01 mm resolution, ±10 μm accuracy on external jaws, 50/17 mm jaws
- 0–300 mm / 0–12″ — 0.01 mm resolution, ±20 μm accuracy on external jaws, 60/20 mm jaws
The stated accuracy applies to the external jaws. Internal-jaw and depth measurements are specified according to ISO 13385-1.
The integrated mechanical Bi-FORCE control module provides two defined force levels according to measurement direction: 8 N for external measurements and 4 N for internal measurements. This allows contact force to be controlled during normal caliper measurement instead of depending only on operator feel.
The instrument has IP67 protection according to IEC 60529, a large display with 12 mm digits, display refresh rate above 10 readings per second, PRESET function, mm/inch indication and automatic ON/OFF. Maximum slider speed is specified up to 2.5 m/s.
Power is supplied by a built-in rechargeable Li-Pol battery with a magnetic charging system. A calibration certificate according to ISO 17025 / ILAC MRA is included.
CONNECTIVITY & DATA
The caliper provides multimode wireless data transfer.
MDS wireless mode supports measurement transfer to the MICROTECH MDS application on:
- Windows
- Android
- iOS
- macOS
Wireless HID mode provides direct data transfer to supported operating systems and applications using HID input.
The catalog also lists the following separately as optional accessories or software:
- MDS DISPLAY UNIT
- MDS SOFTWARE
These are not presented as part of the standard carbide caliper configuration.
WHAT PROBLEM DOES IT SOLVE?
A conventional digital caliper normally leaves the applied measuring force dependent on the operator. When the contact force varies between measurements, dimensional results can become more operator-dependent.
The Bi-FORCE system introduces defined mechanical force levels for both principal measuring directions: 8 N externally and 4 N internally. This gives the operator a controlled force condition while retaining the normal operating format of a caliper.
This version additionally uses upper and lower carbide jaws, distinguishing it from the standard stainless-steel-jaw WIRELESS SwissMet IP67 Bi-FORCE model.
Wireless MDS and HID transfer also allows measurement values to be transferred electronically rather than entered manually.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
For an external measurement, the workpiece is positioned between the lower measuring jaws and the slider is closed until contact is established. The mechanical Bi-FORCE module controls the measuring action at the specified 8 N external force.
For internal measurements, the upper jaws contact the internal surfaces of the feature and the force-control system operates at 4 N.
The electronic measuring system detects the caliper position and presents the result on the large digital display. The operator can use the PRESET and mm/inch functions as required.
When data collection is needed, the measured value can be transmitted wirelessly either to the MDS application or through Wireless HID mode.
WHERE IS IT USED?
The instrument is intended for external, internal and depth dimensional measurement where caliper measurement is required together with defined external/internal measuring force and digital data transfer.
The carbide version is specifically configured for users who require the SwissMet IP67 Bi-FORCE platform with carbide upper and lower measuring jaws rather than the standard stainless-steel measuring-surface configuration.
CONFIGURATION & CUSTOMIZATION
The CARBIDE version is supplied as a dedicated modification with upper and lower carbide jaws.
Available measuring ranges are:
- 0–150 mm — Item No. 141078192C
- 0–200 mm — Item No. 141078292C
- 0–300 mm — Item No. 141078392C
All three carbide versions retain the 0.01 mm resolution, 8 N external / 4 N internal Bi-FORCE system, IP67 protection, PRESET, Auto ON/OFF and wireless data transfer. Accuracy and jaw dimensions vary according to measuring range.
All MICROTECH calipers has hand finished measuring surfaces (Ra<0,32), pass metrological control in ISO 17025 ilac accredited laboratory. Supplying in ergonomic plastic box with Manual and Calibration certificate.
